RECAP: Thailand finds 37 domestic infections among 45 new Covid-19 cases in past 24 hours, with vast majority in Samut Sakhon

Thailand reported 37 domestic infections out of 45 new Covid-19 Coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced this morning, February 26th.

The majority of 32 local infections were discovered in Samut Sakhon with 14, Nakhon Nayok with 5, Bangkok with 3, Chai Nat with 3, Nakhon Pathom with 3, Saraburi with 2, Prachuap Khiri Khan with 1 (Hua Hin, a Dutch national discovered when testing to leave the country), and Samut Prakan with 1. Most of them are asymptomatic. All of the patients are now isolated at local and field hospitals for treatment.

One of the infections found in Bangkok was a French national who is now being treated at a private hospital in the city, according to the CCSA report.

The other five cases were reported during proactive case finding in local communities, particularly in local markets, factories, and migrant workers dormitories, in Samut Sakhon. All of them were asymptomatic and are now isolated at provincial state quarantines and field hospitals under the supervision of public health authorities.

As of today, 218 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 25,809 cases with 24,952 recoveries and a total of 83 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
