Bangkok police searching for unidentified armed suspect in early morning gold shop robbery

Bangkok –

An unidentified male suspect was reported to Bangkok Police as conducting an armed robbery and stealing at least a 150 baht-weight (Just over 4 million baht, or over 120,000 USD.) in gold necklaces at a small gold shop in Bangkok today, September 27.

Police from the Chokchai Police Station were alerted of the theft at a gold shop located inside a department store on Ladprao-Wanghin Road in Bangkok this morning around 10:30 AM.

According to a shop employee, an unidentified man, believed to be Thai, was seen wearing a white jacket, long jeans, and a safety helmet while holding a firearm-like object in his hand.

He reportedly snatched 3 trays of expensive gold necklaces and then fled the gold shop.

The police, after being called, then closed the shop before investigating evidence from CCTV footage as well as relevant evidence at the scene in order to search for the suspect for identification for legal proceedings.
