Jealous Thai husband arrested over alleged murder of his wife in Nakhon Si Thammarat before reportedly escaping to Prachinburi province

Prachinburi –

Chaimongkol Rodploy, 65, was arrested yesterday, October 12, after allegedly shooting his wife Sirikarn Rodploy, 33, to death before reportedly escaping the scene to Prachinburi province last week.

The couple was reportedly running a fruit-buying business in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province until they were facing financial troubles in recent years and were often heard quarreling over the problems and jealousy as Chaimongkol suspected that his wife might commit adultery.

The murder was triggered after Sirikarn asked for a divorce last month. They had reportedly been in intense fights involving death threats frequently until Chaimongkol allegedly shot his wife twice with a shotgun during a large quarrel and drove out of the province on October 7.

The police investigation exposed that the husband escaped from Nakhon Si Thammarat to live discreetly in Prachinburi. He was captured yesterday along with a shotgun that was reportedly used for the murder.

Chaimongkol allegedly admitted to committing the murder of his wife because of jealousy and anger after she wanted a divorce. He was initially charged for murder and will be transferred to and detained at the Nakhon Si Thammarat police station for legal proceedings.
