Korat battles heavy flooding

Heavy showers in Korat last night caused major flooding in Korat City.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation in Nakhon Ratchasima reported that the heavy rain hit around 5:30 PM yesterday and lasted for about two hours.

Water found on road surfaces ranged from about 10 centimeters to over 50 centimeters high.

It was reported that a sedan fell into a construction pit at an underground cable project on Poe Klang Road as a driver was unable to see the hole under the flood waters.

The Thai Meteorological Department is forecasting, for the second week in a row, heavy rain for much of Thailand.
