Five injured after Phang Nga tourist boat explodes

Phang Nga, Thailand-

Three crewmen have sustained serious injuries while two crewmen have sustained minor injuries after a tourist boat explosion in Phang Nga yesterday (November 8th).

Phang Nga Vice Governor Mr. Tammanoon Sriwantana told associated Thai press, “The boat was parked at Tap Lamu Pier in the Thai Mueang district.”

“There were five crewmen including the boat captain waiting for tourists on a trip to Similan Island in Kura Buri district in Phang Nga. There were no tourists on the boat at the time of the incident.”

“The boat captain started the engine. There were sparks and explosions before the fire started.”

“The Royal Thai Navy Third Area Command was called to put out the fire and rescue crewmen.”

“Three of them sustained serious injuries while two of them have sustained minor injuries.”

“Police are continuing their investigation to find the cause of explosion.” The Vice Governor concluded.
