Pattaya Pro-Democracy protester appears to headbutt a Russian foreigner next to his young daughter and wife at rally following verbal disagreement – VIDEO

Pattaya-

A Russian foreigner suffered minor injuries and bleeding from his face after a Thai protester appeared based on video footage and multiple witness testimony to headbutt the foreign national next to his ten year old daughter last night in Pattaya.

A small Pro-Democracy protest gathered at 6:00 PM on Jomtien beach close to the Jomtien police box and Soi 1.

During the protest, A Russian foreigner, named as Mr. Vladislav, 52, and one of the protesters, Mr. Narathiwat ‘Ken’ Kamma, got into a verbal arguement. The exact nature of the disagreement was unclear but escalated despite several bystanders attempting to defuse the situation. Vladislav was accompanied at the event by his 10 year old half-Thai daughter and Thai wife.

Based on the video footage and multiple witnesses, Ken became verbally aggressive, using obscenities in English and Thai before headbutting Vladislav next to his ten year old daughter. Vladislav’s daughter was crying and visibly upset during the incident.

Mr. Vladislav suffered bleeding from his forehead and nose following the incident. He did not appear based on the video footage to be violent or aggressive beforehand, however, witnesses claimed he was making inappropriate and rude remarks to the protesters. This was not, however, captured on video.

It is unclear what the foreigner said prior to the incident. He did not appear to respond violently to the incident and remained calm following the headbutt. He was provided first aid. Vladislav is not a tourist, according to Thai police, and has been a long term Thailand resident.

Both parties were taken to the Pattaya Police station for further investigation. An update is expected later today, November 9, 2020.
