Samut Sakhon –
Three family members of an infected female shrimp farmer in Samut Sakhon were found with positive results for the Covid-19 coronavirus, officials from the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today, December 18.
The patients are a 94-year-old bedridden mother, a 73-year-old oldest sister, and a 57-year-old sister-in-law. They are among seven family members that also are considered a high-risk group and now being quarantined at Samut Sakhon hospital.
Moreover, a timeline of the infected farmer was also revealed at the press briefing this morning, stating that she was working at a local market every day since December 1 until she was reportedly having suspicious symptoms of body-ache and loss of smell on December 13th.
The patient went to a private hospital to seek a Covid-19 test on December 16th and went straight home to wait for the result which came around 10:00 P.M. and was revealed as positive.
She was taken and was being isolated at Samut Sakhon hospital at 2:00 A.M. on the following day before being tested for the virus for the second time. The result showed an identical result, confirming that she was infected for Covid-19.
A total of 165 local people, including family members, market vendors, and medical staff, tested negative so far, however, they are still performing 14-day quarantine and being closely monitored by public health officials.
