Thai Tourism Authority launches new one stop platform for quarantine booking

Thailand-

The Thai Tourism Authority announced this morning that they have announced a brand new “One Stop” platform for quarantine booking in Thailand, referred to as Alternative State Quarantine and Alternative Local State Quarantine.

The new website, which is designed to make the process for booking quarantine hotels easier for those wishing to enter Thailand at this time can be found here: https://asq.ascendtravel.com

Thailand currently requires a mandatory “fourteen day quarantine” (In reality, due to the way Thailand counts the system, it is fifteen days) for everyone entering the country, regardless if they are a Thai or Foreign national. For foreigners, the quarantine is at their own expense. A Thai national can enter local quarantine for free, however, have the option to purchase an alternative local state quarantine at their expense if they wish to have upgraded accommodations.

According to a statement by the Thai Tourism Authority on the new site “The Digital Council of Thailand and ASQ-ALQ Thailand Club, together with leading Thai travel start-ups, Ascend Travel and Horganice teamed up to launch the online platform in Thai and English. It features more than 100 ASQ/ALQ hotels in Thailand, along with value-added services to meet all Thai Ministry of Public Health quarantine requirements.”

The website contains a variety of information, not just based on quarantine, to help interested individuals in entering Thailand and working through the process of booking a quarantine. It also contains rules and restrictions for quarantine as well as identifies special “extras” at some participating hotels and provides comparisons and other information.

It also provides customer service and support for those who have questions or are not sure which steps to take. The following is a basic chart that shows the process to enter Thailand, courtesy of Ascendtravel and The Thai Tourism Authority:
