All 49 patients will be transferred to the provincial medical center where they will be quarantined and need to be confirmed for results again as there is a chance that they may be inaccurate for the first time, according to the governor.

Deputy health minister Satit Pituthecha said that more strict health measures from the Public Health Ministry will be implemented in the province to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and might be affecting some local businesses and vendors. The health officials will also insist to provide the Covid-19 test for about 400 people daily to seek for possible infected patients. All the cases are in the Mueang Rayong sub-district which has entered a highly controlled status and seen the closure of non essential businesses. Regarding an alleged illegal gambling den where a batch of gamblers was shockingly found infected yesterday, Police Major General Paphatdet Ketphan of Rayong provincial police clarified that there were no gambling dens in Rayong but rather was a domestic place that was operated for illegal gambling activities.

“Only 7 people from a domestic gambling place, not den, were found positive for Covid-19, not 36 as claimed by several media channels yesterday but the number has reached 36 patients from transmission of the seven patients.” said the police general.
