Buriram province requires fourteen day quarantine for visitors from highly controlled provinces, including Chonburi

Buriram, Thailand-

The Buriram Provincial Disease Committee approved over this weekend an order to require quarantine for all visitors from red provinces, which includes Chonburi.

Buriram also required this during the first cluster of infections last spring. The province currently is considered “under surveillance” with no cases as of Friday, January 1st and venues and business open as usual.

Checkpoints will be placed around the area and visitors from highly controlled provinces, including Chonburi, Rayong and Bangkok, will be required to do a fourteen day self-quarantine under the monitoring of a village health volunteer.

The order takes effect as of today and also includes Nakhon Pathom, Samut Prakan, Trat, Samut Songkhram, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Sakhon and Chanthaburi. Buriram joins Sa Kaeo in requiring quarantine for visitors from highly controlled provinces who made the announcement earlier this week.
