Thai Retailers and Shopping Center Association agree to close all participating malls nationwide at 9:00 PM to stop Covid-19 spread

Thailand-

The Thai Retailers and Shopping Center Association has agreed to close all participating malls nationwide at 9:00 PM, an announcement from them stated this evening.

This is to help fight the Covid-19 Coronavirus, according to the association, although The Pattaya News notes it is unclear exactly how an early closing of business will stop the virus, according to the association.

The notice, in Thai is below. This affects most major malls (but not all, as not all are members) and starts Monday, January 4th, 2020.  It does not affect small independent markets or centers, although these may have regional restrictions.

The Association also stated they are using “world class” Covid-19 measures to help stop the virus, a likely attempt to try to avoid having their venues shut across the country by  possible closure restrictions and measures.
