The Samut Sakorn Governor, Verasak Vichitsangsri, 58, is reportedly in “good condition” after being put on a ventilator for Covid-19 and his condition is improving, according to a statement by doctors familiar with his condition this afternoon.

We originally published the information about the Governor here.

Dr. Prasit Wattanapa, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Medical Hospital at Mahidol University gave an interview with the Thai press about the Governor’s condition earlier today.

Some media reports stated that the governor had his ventilator removed, however, Dr. Prasit said breathing assistance was still needed but it “may be able to be removed in a few days. He also said the Governor’s condition was much better overall and the situation should be clearer soon.

The Governor’s wife, who also has Covid-19, is doing very well according to Dr. Prasit and had much more mild symptoms, and is recovering.
