Pathum Thani-
The Thai Department of Special Investigation (DSI) arrested a 28-year-old Thai man who reportedly claimed to be an agent for child models with allegedly an estimated 500,000 photos showing child sexual abuse today.
The number of photos found was the largest ever in Thailand, according to the DSI.
Danudet Saengkaeo, or Nene, 28, was arrested in the Khlong Luang district of Pathum Thani early this morning. His home where he was captured was also his office for his company, Nene modeling, a child model agency according to the DSI. This agency is reportedly one of the most well known in Thailand.
DSI director-general Korawat Panprapakorn told associated Thai press the raid came after tips brought to them by Australian Federal Police who had tracked child sexual abuse photos found in that country on previously arrested and accused child sex abusers to Thailand.
Korawat stated that the haul of 500,000 photos showed thousands of estimated cases of child molestation and sexual abuse. The DSI is partnering with relevant parties and agencies to assist in identifying the children and providing them with psychological support as well as assisting them in demanding compensation and justice.
Nene remains in custody and has not released a public plea or statement in regards to the charges, according to the DSI. It is unknown if he has secured a lawyer at this time.
