Thailand reported 185 domestic cases among a total of 201 new Covid-19 coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours, CCSA deputy spokesperson Apisamai Srirangsan announced at a daily briefing this morning, February 11th.
89 out of 185 domestic infections were found in Samut Sakhon with 73, Tak with 14, Bangkok with 1, and Rayong with 1 during proactive case findings in major factories and local communities, particularly in migrant workers’ dormitories. All of them are now at provincial state quarantine and field hospitals under the supervision of public health authorities.
The other 96 infections were hospital cases that were discovered in Samut Sakhon with 56, Tak with 23, Bangkok with 16, and Nonthaburi with 1. All of the patients are now isolated at local hospitals for treatment and most of them are asymptomatic, according to the deputy spokesperson.
Tak provincial authorities have now declared a highly controlled zone in the Mae Sot district after nearly 40 local infections were suddenly discovered in three major local markets. The restrictions include the closure of two markets, the limitation of gathering in buildings of educational institutions and nurseries, and the limitation of religious practices in mosques. There are also travel restrictions in place in the district.
As of today, 885 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 24,104 cases with 19,799 recoveries and a total of 80 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
