RECAP: Thailand reports 69 domestic infections among 72 new Covid-19 cases, with vast majority in Pathum Thani

Thailand discovered 69 domestic infections out of a total of 72 new Covid-19 Coronavirus daily cases in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covidd-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced this morning, February 16th.

About 48 domestic cases were discovered in Pathum Thani with 47 and Ayutthaya with 1 during proactive case finding. The patients are both Thai and Myanmar nationals. All of them are now at provincial state quarantine and field hospitals under the supervision of public health authorities.

The other 21 infections were hospital/contact tracing cases that were found in Samut Sakhon with 16, Samut Prakan with 2, Nakhon Pathom with 1, Pathum Thani with 1, and Khon Kean with 1. All of the patients are now isolated at local and field hospitals for treatment. Most of them are asymptomatic, according to CCSA spokesperson Taweesin Visanuyothin.

As of today, 680 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 24,786 cases with 23,583 recoveries and a total of 82 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
