RECAP: Thailand reports 93 domestic infections among 95 new Covid-19 daily cases in past 24 hours

  Bangkok, Thailand –

Thailand discovered 93 domestic infections among a total of 95 new Covid-19 Coronavirus daily cases in the past 24 hours, CCSA (Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration) assistant spokeswoman Panprapa Yongtrakul announced this morning, February 23rd.

52 local infections were walk-in/hospital cases that were discovered in Samut Sakhon with 40, Pathum Thani with 3, Bangkok with 2, Tak with 2, Ang Thong with 2, Nakhon Pathom with 1, Ayutthaya with 1, and Nonthaburi with 1. All of the patients are now isolated at local and field hospitals for treatment under the supervision of public health authorities. A hospital case includes those found through contact tracing.

The other 41 cases were reported during proactive case finding in local communities, particularly in local markets, factories, and migrant workers dormitories, in Pathum Thani with 25, Samut Sakhon with 14, and Nonthaburi with 2. Most of them were Myanmar migrant workers and asymptomatic. All of them are now isolated at provincial state quarantines and field hospitals.

As of today, 156 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 25,415 cases with 24,285 recoveries and a total of 83 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Additionally, the easing of Covid-19 control restrictions and zoning readjustment nationwide as well as the extension of the Emergency Decree to control the Covid-19 virus have been approved by the big CCSA meeting yesterday.
