A female medical officer was reportedly experiencing a severe allergic reaction after being vaccinated by Sinovac’s Covid-19 vaccine but her symptoms are now improving, says the Director-General of the Department of Disease Control.
Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong has summarized the Covid-19 vaccination situation at a press conference today, March 3rd. A total of 7,262 people have been vaccinated from February 28th to March 2nd, according to the reports.
The Public Health Ministry also observed the vaccinated people after the injection. About 20 were detected with adverse reactions. They were divided into 2 groups which are mild and severe symptoms.
A number of 19 vaccinated people were having mild symptoms. 12 of them were fatigue, 4 were having body aches, two were nauseous, and one was having swelling/redness.
The only severe case found was a 28-year-old medical officer. She was reportedly normal when the surveillance began 30 minutes after the injection. However, she suddenly became nauseous and had low blood pressure four to five hours later.
According to her medical history, she was allergic to Penicillin since her childhood. She was gradually recovering and reportedly safe after being injected with Adrenaline.
Her allergic reaction and data will be collected and will be reported to the Public Health Ministry in order to prevent the allergic reoccurrence.
