RECAP: Thailand finds 25 domestic cases among 35 new Covid-19 infections in past 24 hours

Thailand reported 25 domestic cases among a total of 35 new Covid-19 Coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesin Visanuyothin announced at a daily press briefing this morning, March 3rd.

The majority of 17 domestic infections were walk-in/hospital cases, including contact tracing, that were reported in Samut Sakhon with 9, Bangkok with 3, Pathum Thani with 3, Prachuap Khiri Khan with 1, and Ayutthaya with 1. Most of them are Thai nationals, according to the reports. All of the patients are now isolated at local and field hospitals for treatment.

One of the infections found in Bangkok was an English national. The patient is now being isolated and treated at a private hospital in the city.

The other eight cases were reported during proactive case finding in local communities, particularly in local markets, factories, and migrant workers dormitories, in Pathum Thani with 5 and Samut Sakhon with 3.

As of today, 93 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 26,108 cases with 25,483 recoveries and a total of 84 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
