Thailand reported 65 domestic infections among a total of 79 new Covid-19 Coronavirus daily cases in the past 24 hours, CCSA assistant spokesperson Panprapa Yongtrakul announced this morning, March 5th.
The majority of 43 domestic cases were reported during proactive case finding in local communities, particularly in local markets, factories, and migrant worker’s dormitories in Samut Sakhon with 38 and Pathum Thani with 5. Most of them are Myanmar migrant workers and asymptomatic, according to the reports.
The other 22 infections were walk-in/hospital cases, including contact tracing, that were reported in Samut Sakhon with 12, Bangkok with 6, Pathum Thani with 3, and Chonburi with 1. All of the patients are now isolated at local and field hospitals for treatment.
The infection found in Chonburi was a Chinese national. The patient is now being isolated and treated at a private hospital in the city. Close contacts of the patient are being investigated and confirmed by the medical officers.
As of today, 79 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 26,241 cases with 25,641 recoveries and a total of 85 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
