RECAP: Thailand reports 48 domestic infections among 71 new Covid-19 daily cases in past 24 hours

Thailand discovered 48 domestic infections among a total of 71 new Covid-19 Coronavirus daily cases in the past 24 hours, CCSA assistant spokesperson Apisamai Srirangsan announced this morning, March 8th.

The majority of 41 domestic cases were walk-in/hospital cases, including contact tracing, that were found in Samut Sakhon with 34, Prachin Buri with 3, Tak with 2, Prathum Thani with 1, and Bangkok with 1. Most of them are Thai nationals and are asymptomatic. All of the patients are now isolated at local and field hospitals for treatment.

The other seven infections were reported during proactive case finding in local communities, particularly in local markets, factories, and migrant worker’s dormitories in Samut Sakhon with 6 and Pathum Thani with 1. All of them are being isolated at local and field hospitals under the supervision of public health authorities.

As of today, 33 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 26,441 cases with 25,777 recoveries and a total of 85 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
