RECAP: Thailand finds 53 domestic infections among 58 new Covid-19 daily cases in past 24 hours, with vast majority in Samut Sakhon

Thailand discovered 53 domestic infections among a total of 58 new Covid-19 Coronavirus daily cases in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported this morning, March 11th.

The majority of 36 local cases were reported during proactive case finding in local communities, particularly in local markets, factories, and migrant worker’s dormitories in Samut Sakhon with 26 and Bangkok with 10. Most of them are asymptomatic, according to the reports. They are being isolated at local and field hospitals under the supervision of public health authorities.

The other 17 infections were walk-in/hospital cases, including contact tracing, that were found in Samut Sakhon with 12, Bangkok with 2, Prachuap Khiri Khan with 1, Nonthaburi with 1, and Ratchaburi with 1. Most of them are Thai nationals and are asymptomatic. All of the patients are now isolated at local and field hospitals for treatment.

As of today, 54 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 26,598 cases with 26,000 recoveries and a total of 85 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
