The Royal Thai Army plans to launch the “S.M.A.R.T SOLDIERS” application for soldiers and civilians to report internal problems in the military bases and send complaints against army commanders or officers.
Army chief Narongphan Jitkaewthae announced on Friday, March 12th, that the application was drafted to replace a military hotline in order to provide easier access to all complaints. It would be developed by the Thai Army Technology Department in both IOS and Andriod versions.
The chief said: “We hope the application will become a platform where any low-rank officers or any citizens can give complaints against unjust behaviors among senior officers or any military officials. The application would also allow the complaints to be recorded in both oral and written form for more accuracy.”
Prior to the process, all applicants and complainants must have their identification verified to avoid fake complaints or harassment. There will not be an option for anonymous complaints. The application development was already completed and is on a trial within the internal military department.
