Prime Minister, along with cabinet ministers, successfully receives Thailand’s first shot of AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine this morning

Bangkok –

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha was inoculated with Thailand’s first AstraZeneca Covid-19 shot this morning, March 16, following sudden postponement last Friday.

The cabinet ministers, led by the Prime Minister, received their shot of Covid-19 vaccines at the Government House of Bangkok under the supervision of Public Health Ministry officers.

Dr. Yong Poovorawan, Chulalongkorn University virology specialist and Covid-19 Situation advisor, provided an injection for the Prime Minister at around 9:00 AM.

The second shot is scheduled for May 25th. The Prime Minister said after the injection that inoculation for ministers is to assure confidence and safety for the Thai public and for those who are about to be vaccinated.

The Prime Minister said: “The government has prepared to provide a sufficient amount of vaccines that is suitable for Thailand and Thai people and plan to distribute them to cover all of the Thai population as fast as possible.”
