First reported death of vaccinated patient not connected to Covid-19 vaccine, Thai Public Health Vice Minister says

Bangkok –

The first reported death of a vaccinated patient in Thailand was due to a pre-existing health condition and was not connected to the Covid-19 inoculation, Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health officials said today, March 26th.

Dr. Sophon Mekthon, Vice Minister of Public Health, revealed that one of two vaccine recipients developed severe side effects. The first patient was developing urticaria or hives while the deceased suffered from a ruptured aneurysm prior to the vaccine inoculation.

“The deceased had been treated for his aortic aneurysm for a long time and there is a possibility that an artery could rupture at any time. The rupture, unfortunately, occurred after the inoculation and therefore had nothing to do with the vaccination,” the doctor added.

However, health officials will investigate and identify the exact cause of the death as it is standard practice since a person died after being given a vaccine, Sophon stated.

Sophon and other officials have continually stated that vaccines are safe and that the public should not spread false information.
