RECAP: Thailand announces 69 new daily domestic cases of Covid–19, 15 imported cases and one new death

Thailand –

Thailand has announced 69 new domestic confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Kingdom this morning (April 3rdh), with 15 imported cases for a total of 84 new confirmed cases of the virus with one new death reported.

The announcement was made by the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) in Bangkok.

Of the 69 new local cases, 58 were found through contact tracing and in hospitals and 11 were found through active case-finding in local communities.

Bangkok had the most with 32 cases, Samut Sakhon had 12 and other provinces had 25. The cases in Bangkok, according to the CCSA, were primarily from a group of students who went to pubs and nightclubs in the Bangkok area.

One death was reported which was a 29-year-old female Thai patient who had multiple personal health issues which were cardiomegaly, heart valve regurgitation, and down syndrome.

The patient was infected by her parents who are previously confirmed cases living in Bangkok.

On March 21st she started to have suspicious symptoms but tested negative for Covid – 19.

On March 25th she reportedly felt exhausted.

On April 1st she had later been pronounced dead. At this time she was confirmed with Covid -19.
