The other 153 cases were reported during proactive case finding in local communities, particularly in local markets, factories, dormitories, and entertainment venues in Bangkok with 133, Samut Prakan with 15, and Chonburi with 5. All of them are isolated at field/local hospitals in the province under the supervision of Public Health authorities.

A number of celebrities, police officials, and cabinet ministers have been confirmed positive for the Covid-19 Coronavirus or have been in close contact with new Covid-19 cases following the new cluster at entertainment venues in Bangkok.

One of them includes transport minister Saksayam Chidchob who has recently proved positive for the virus and has immediately been admitted to Buriram Hospital this morning after reportedly having a high fever. Several MPs and cabinet ministers have also begun a 14-day state or self quarantine today after being potentially exposed.

As of this morning, a total of nine police officials from Thonglhor Police Station who were deployed to monitor the pro-active case findings in the Wattana district for the past days also tested positive for the Covid-19 Coronavirus, resulting in another 22 close-contact officials to perform isolation.

Additionally, the Thai Government also canceled its annual Songkran celebration event at the Government House this Friday, April 9th, in order to potentially prevent the spread of Covid-19 Coronavirus. Despite the rising public concern about the spread of the virus, the CCSA reassured that the colored-zone areas and their health restrictions will remain the same for now until further notice from the government. This could, however, change soon.
