RECAP: Thailand announces 781 new daily domestic cases of Covid – 19, 8 imported cases and one new death

Thailand has announced 781 new domestic confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Kingdom this morning (April 10th), with 8 imported cases for a total of 789 new confirmed cases of the virus with one new death reported.

The announcement was made by the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) in Bangkok.

Of the 781 new local cases, 522 were found through contact tracing and in hospitals, and 259 were found through active case-finding in local communities.

Bangkok had the most with 185 cases, Chiang Mai had 168 and Samut Prakan had 75. The rest are in other provinces. (Chonburi had 141 cases but records them later than the CCSA which cuts off their recording at an earlier time the day before and not all were included in the total today and will be recorded by the CCSA tomorrow.)

The cases in Bangkok, according to the CCSA, were primarily from a group of people who went to pubs and nightclubs in the Bangkok area.

One death was reported which was a Thai man aged 68, unemployed, who lived in Nakhon Pathom. He had personal health issues which were obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

On February 7th he started to have suspicious symptoms. On February 13th he was confirmed with Covid -19.

He had renal failure and has been pronounced dead on April 4th.

The Chonburi Public Health Department Public Relations announced 141 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 this morning, April 10th, 2021. A significant amount of these are from a single pub in the Chonburi area, the Flintstones pub.
