RECAP: Thailand finds 1,454 new Covid-19 domestic infections with two additional deaths with underlying conditions in past 24 hours

Thailand discovered 1,454 domestic infections among a total of 1,458 new Covid-19 Coronavirus daily cases with two additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA assistant spokesperson Apisamai Srirangsan announced this morning, April 21st.

The fatalities were a 56-year-old woman from Bangkok with underlying conditions of diabetes, past liver failure, high blood pressure, and obesity; and a 32-year-old man from Nonthaburi with an underlying condition of severe allergies.

Regarding domestic infections, the first group of 365 local infections was discovered in Bangkok. 31 of them were reportedly connected to entertainment venues, 84 were from community markets and villages, and the other 250 infections were connected to other risky places.

The second group includes 205 cases that were reported in Bangkok’s vicinity. 19 of them were reportedly connected to entertainment venues, 13 were from community markets and villages, and the other 173 cases were connected to other risky places.

The last group includes 884 domestic infections that were found in other provinces. 54 of them were connected to entertainment venues, 41 were from community markets and villages, and 789 of them were connected to other risky places. The majority of the group was discovered in Chiang Mai alone with 134 infections, followed by Chonburi with 80, Nonthaburi with 69, and Rayong with 64.

As of today, 413 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 46,643 cases with 29,371 recoveries and a total of 110 deaths since the start of the pandemic. About 33,122 people received their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccination and another 13,279 people received their second shot yesterday, marking a total number of 712,610 vaccinated people in Thailand who have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
