Bangkok –
More than 498 officers were confirmed with Covid-19 infections in the third outbreak from entertainment venues in Bangkok, a Royal Thai Police spokesperson revealed today, April 21st.
Police Major General Yingyot Thepjamnong, a spokesman of the Royal Thai Police, told the Associated Press that about 412 infected officers are receiving treatment at hospitals, as of April 20th, marking the total number of infections at 498 cases since the beginning of the recent outbreak in March.
Meanwhile, the Royal Thai Police has prepared medical equipment and medical personnel at the Police Hospital and other field hospitals to take care of police officers and citizens who were found infected with Covid-19 Coronavirus.
Police officials nationwide should also follow the health measures of the Ministry of Public Health strictly when performing duties with the public to protect themselves from possible infection, the spokesman stated.
Yingyot said: “All police should also avoid an area where it could be the source of disease transmission. Although some of the officials were affected, we still have a sufficient number of police officers and it will have no impact on the police performance.”
