Sputnik V and Moderna vaccines now officially in process of registration with Thai FDA for official allocation in Thailand, says FDA secretary-general today

National –

Two additional vaccine manufacturers, Sputnik V and Moderna, are in the process of registration with Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for official distribution, the FDA secretary-general reported today, April 25th.

Secretary-general Paisarn Dunkum told the Associated Press that the FDA is currently in contact with Kinjen Biotech Co., Ltd, which was a distributor of the Sputnik V vaccination, and Zuellig Pharma Moderna vaccine Co., Ltd, a distributor of the Moderna vaccine in Thailand.

He stated: “Both companies are preparing the registration application information for the FDA approval to be allocated for Thai people nationwide.”

“As of now, the FDA has already approved of three vaccine manufacturers to be distributed in the Kingdom, namely AstraZeneca vaccines by Astra Zeneca (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Sinovac’s CoronaVac vaccines by the Government Pharmaceutical Organization, and Johnson & Johnson vaccine by Janssen-Cilag Company Limited.”

It is worth noting that the statement did not mention how long would it take for the FDA consideration nor the exact deadline for the approval since both companies are both at an early stage of applying for the vaccine registration.
