RECAP: Thailand announces 2,409 new daily domestic cases of Covid -19, 10 imported with 19 new deaths

Thailand has announced 2,409 new domestic confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Kingdom this morning (May 8th) with 10 imported cases for a total of 2,419 cases of the virus with 19 new deaths reported, in the past 24 hours.

Of the 2,409 1,890 were found through contact tracing and in hospitals, and 519 were found through active case-finding in local communities.

Bangkok has the most cases with 1,112, Nonthaburi with 217, and Samut Prakan with 114.

Nineteen deaths were reported which we will be updated in a separate article.

The majority of the cases in Bangkok come from increased community testing especially in and around the dense populations of the Klong Toey area. Chonburi saw a decrease in cases as reported in a separate article.
