The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) is planning to use industrial estates under its jurisdiction nationwide as vaccination centers in line with the Public Health Ministry’s measures.
Industry Minister Suriya Chuengrungrueangkit revealed today, May 10th, that he has ordered the IEAT, which is the state enterprise under the control of the Industry Ministry, to accelerate the implementation and preparation of intensive surveillance and supervision of health measures to prevent the effects of the spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus.
IEAT will also plan to apply temporary vaccination centers to all of its areas under its jurisdiction and strictly comply with Public Health Ministry’s principles.
Veeris Ammarapala, IEAT Governor, said that vaccines were one of the keys in driving the industrial sectors out of the Covid-19 crisis. Approximately 1 million people in industrial estates need to be vaccinated against the virus, half of them have said that they agreed to pay for the vaccine up to 1,000 baht per shot.
The IEAT is planning to seek a supply of vaccines from the government to kick off an inoculation for their people as soon as possible as well as to monitor the situation closely and encourage all industrial personnel to strictly follow measures to reduce the infection within the industrial estate.
