Thai Meteorological Department forecasts thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Thailand this week

The Thai Meteorological Department today, May 30th, reported 7-day weather forecasts with thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Thailand this week.

During the 30th of May – 1 June, a strong southwest monsoon that prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South, and the Gulf of Thailand is weakening, resulting in less rain over Thailand. Isolated heavy rain is forecast in some areas of the North, the Central, and the South.

The wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are likely to be of moderate size. Waves are forecast to reach up to about 2 meters in the Andaman sea and above 2 meters in thundershower areas. All ships in the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution, especially in thundershower areas. Waves in the upper Gulf of Thailand will be about 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower areas.

During the 2nd to the 5th of June, a moderate southwest monsoon will prevail across the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. Thundershowers are likely across Thailand, and isolated heavy rain remains in the South. Wind related waves in the Andaman Sea will be 1 – 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower areas.

Today, outbreaks of thundershowers are possible across Thailand as a moderate southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South, and the Gulf of Thailand. The winds are predicted to force strong waves in the upper Andaman Sea from Phuket northward of about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep away from thundershowers.
