Thailand reported a total of 2,230 daily Covid-19 infections with 38 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Visanuyothin announced this morning, June 1st.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 864, followed by Samut Prakan with 253, Phetchaburi with 166, Trang with 164 (driven by the recently-found cluster at a gloves factory), Saraburi with 327 (at a chicken processing plant factory), Nonthaburi with 112 (at a construction worker camp), and Saraburi with 83. Chonburi reported 47 domestic infections.
As of today, 3,390 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 162,022 cases with 111,735 recoveries and a total of 1,069 deaths since the start of the pandemic. About 40,562 people received their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccination and another 14,415 people received their second shot yesterday, marking a total number of 3,644,859 vaccinated people in Thailand who have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
