Thailand announces 2,817 new cases of Covid-19 and 36 additional deaths, surpasses 4 million people with at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine

Thailand reported 2,817 new Covid-19 infections with 315 confirmed cases at prisons as well as 56 imported cases, marking a total of 2,817 daily infections, with 36 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

This makes a total of 145,933  since the start of this recent round of infections in early April.

Additionally, 96,667 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 3,396 people were released yesterday. The chart below shows total cases and recoveries since the original outbreak last year, however.

Among the local 1,295 new domestic cases, excluding the cases at the prisons, the highest number of infections listed by provinces was discovered in Bangkok with 925, Pathum Thani with 411, Samut Sakorn with 293, Samut Prakarn with 143, and Petchaburi with 130.

The fatalities were 21 men and 15 women age between 24 to 92 from Bangkok (16), Samut Prakan (4), Nonthaburi (3), Chonburi (2), Nakhon Sawan (2), Samut Sakorn (2). Phetchaburi (1), Nakhon Pathom (1), Tak (1), Ayutthaya (1), Pattalung (1), Ratchaburi (1), and Songkhla (1).

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, high levels of fats in the blood, kidney disease, strokes, lung disease, cancers, and obesity.

Two of them did not reportedly have any health conditions.

90,917 people got their first vaccination shot yesterday with 90,438 getting their second, making a total of 4,142,944 people who have been vaccinated in Thailand with at least one dose against Covid-19 so far and surpassing four million people today with at least one vaccination dose.
