Phetchabun –

An injured female passenger who had survived a fatal crash in Phetchabun on Sunday revealed more details of the accident to local media today, June 15th.

The 18-year-old survivor, whose name was withheld, is now hospitalized at a hospital. She was seen with a splinted broken leg, waiting for surgery, and had large wounds on her chest and neck caused by a tightened safety belt during the accident. The tight safety belt, however, likely saved her life according to rescue workers at the scene of the brutal accident that killed three other people, including two people in another vehicle.

According to her statement, she was heard asking a 50-year-old driver on a live stream to accelerate the vehicle during the bad weather conditions due to the rain. She said that the speed was only at 50-60 km./hr. when she was recording the video, which was about 50 kilometers from the accident site. The vehicle was a convertible which, despite the rain, had the top down during the accident.

She told the media: “At that time, the road was clear of traffic. It was straight, not a curvy road, so I told him to speed up to 120 km./hr. But once we reached a curve or where there was traffic, then we slowed down.”

“When the accident happened, I was asleep. Once I woke up, the vehicle was already careening across the middle traffic island. So I wasn’t sure of what exactly happened, it was all blurry. I am very sorry about the incident.” She stated to the media.

She also clarified that she was not a “pretty” model as the public claimed on social media, but was a cosmetic business owner. The BMW driver was her colleague who was traveling with her to Khao Kho for business purposes, according to her.
