The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is taking part in holding the month-long ‘Colourful Phuket Bring Back the Happiness’ Festival, which begins with a grand opening at Patong Beach today and Phuket Old Town area tomorrow.

Also jointly organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and Phuket Province, the Festival features an entertaining program of fireworks, live music, sea sports, art installations, and food truck cuisine that runs right through to the end of July.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said “The Colourful Phuket Bring Back the Happiness Festival has been timed to coincide with the July launch of the Phuket Sandbox program, and to provide the first of what we hope will be many, many tourists returning to the island with fun and engaging activities to enjoy.”

Today’s grand opening at Patong Beach, the most famous of all Phuket’s beaches and a tourist favorite, runs from 15.00 Hrs. onwards with local food trucks serving delicious cuisine to try. From 19.30 Hrs-20.00 Hrs. fireworks and fire show entertainment will light up the evening in a dazzling fashion.

Tomorrow’s grand opening activity comprises a ‘projection mapping’ light and sound show from 19.30-20.00 Hrs. at the Peranakannitat Museum Phuket, located in the heart of the Old Town area at the intersection of Phuket and Phang Nga Roads.

‘The Colourful Phuket Bring Back the Happiness’ Festival will then run to the following schedule, at different locations around the island:
