Phuket-
Phuket public health officials have confirmed this morning that a confirmed case of Covid-19 had been found recently and had visited a Starbucks coffee shop but was not a Sandbox tourist.
The Phuket Public Health Office Chief Mr. Koosak Kookiattikul told The Phuket Public Relations Office, “One new confirmed case of Covid-19 was announced on July 2nd whose timeline related to a Starbucks in Central Floresta on the ground floor. ”
“The confirmed case is a Phuket local, not a Sandbox arrival, who got their first dose of a Covid19 vaccine already and had visited the coffee shop on June 25th, 27th, 28th and 29th. The confirmed case also met relatives recently who came from a high-risk area off the island. That connection is being investigated.” Koosak stated.
“However, the coffee shop has many customers. So we have announced our intent to find high risk close contacts, a total of 24 people. They are staffers and customers who were at the coffee shop when the confirmed case visited. They are now being quarantined and so far have tested negative for the virus.” Koosak continued.
“Meanwhile, no confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been found from international travelers to the Phuket Sandbox yet. There have been about 500 international visitors arriving in the Phuket Sandbox each day, all have tested negative for the virus so far.” Koosak concluded.
