RECAP: Thailand reports a total of 5,420 daily Covid-19 infections with 57 additional deaths, 280,642 new vaccinated people reported nationwide in past 24 hours

Thailand announced a total of 5,420 daily Covid-19 infections with 57 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Visanuyothin reported this morning, July 6th.

The fatalities were 35 men and 22 women from Bangkok (33), Samut Prakan (7), Nakhon Pathom (2), Rayong (2), Pathum Thani (2), Chonburi (2), Songkhla (2), Saraburi (2), Phetchaburi (1), Chachoengsao (1), Tak (1), Samut Songkram (1), Narathiwas (1), Pattani (1), Sakhon Nakhon (1) and Nakhon Panom (1). The age range was between 25 and 91 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, heart disease, obesity, liver disease, cancer, strokes, lung disease, blood disorders, and ALS. Seven of the fatalities did not reportedly have any health conditions.

Of the new cases, 4,070 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 1,305 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 37 were from prisons, and the remaining eight were imported cases.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 1,492, followed by Samut Sakhon with 398, Samut Prakan with 318, Chonburi with 266, Pattani with 262, and Nonthaburi with 242.

A total number of 280,642 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 217,375 people had received their first shot and 63,267 people had received their second shots.

As of today, 2,534 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 289,233 cases with 223,437 recoveries and a total of 2,276 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Additionally, Covid-19 registration for foreign residences aged 60 or over and/or have underlying medical conditions are now able to register for the vaccination appointment at Phayathai 2 Hospital (https://phyathai2international.com) from July 12th to the 16th between 9:00 AM. and 12:00 AM. and at Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital (directly contact the hospital) according to the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration.
