Thailand discovered a total of 11,397 daily Covid-19 infections with 101 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported this morning, July 18th.
Of the new cases, 8,670 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 2,400 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 318 were from prisons, and the remaining nine were imported cases.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,166, followed by Pathum Thani with 684, Samut Sakhon with 677, Chonburi with 660, Samut Prakan with 604, and Ayutthaya with 392.
A total number of 93,273 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 82,854 people had received their first shot and 10,419 people had received their second shots.
As of today, 5,726 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 403,386 cases with 283,910 recoveries and a total of 3,341 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Ministry of Public Health, would establish an online registration system for foreigners in Thailand who wish to receive the vaccine by the end of July to assist the foreign embassies in facilitating and distributing vaccines nationwide.
This weekend, the Thai Chamber of Commerce has allocated a number of vaccines for injections for foreign members of the Chamber of Commerce and private agencies. Leftover doses would be further prioritized for foreign nationals who urgently need the vaccinations, according to foreign ministry spokesman Tanee Sangrat.
