Thailand discovered a total of 11,784 daily Covid-19 infections with 81 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Visanuyothin reported this morning, July 19th.
The fatalities were 50 men and 31 women from Bangkok (26), Pathum Thani (9), Pattani (5), Phetchaburi (4), Nakhon Ratchasima (4), Roi Et (3), Si Saket (3), Udon Thani (2), Narathiwas (2), Ranong (2), Suphanburi (2), Chachoengsao (2), Rayong (2), Nakhon Sawan (2), Phrae (1), Kampangpetch (1), Sukothai (1), Chiang Rai (1), Buriram (1), Yasothon (1), Chonburi (1), Prachinburi (1), Ang Thong (1), Songkhla (1), Surat Thani (1), Samut Prakan (1), and Nakhon Pathom (1). The age range was between 29 and 100 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, obesity, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, heart disease, stroke, and lung disease. Eleven of the fatalities did not reportedly have any health conditions.
Of the new cases, 8,997 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 2,677 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 100 were from prisons, and the remaining 10 were imported cases.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,134, followed by Samut Sakhon with 765, Chonburi with 615, Saraburi with 494, Pathum Thani with 485, and Ayutthaya with 484.
A total number of 74,834 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 69,667 people had received their first shot and 5,167 people had received their second shots.
As of today, 5,741 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 415,170 cases with 289,651 recoveries and a total of 3,422 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
At the press conference, Dr. Taweesilp also stated that unnecessary travel in and out of the dark-red zone provinces is highly discouraged. More checkpoints would be deployed at the borders to prevent people from interprovincial travel. Those who wish to travel must register for a travel permit and fill in their details at covid-19.in.th before traveling, according to the doctor.
