RECAP: Thailand finds a total of 15,335 daily Covid-19 infections with 129 additional deaths, marking another new high of daily infections and deaths

Thailand discovered a total of 15,335 daily Covid-19 infections with 129 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, marking another new high of daily infections and death rate, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, July 25th.

The fatalities were 70 men and 59 women from Bangkok (66), Samut Prakan (7), Pathum Thani (6), Tak (6), Pattani (5), Suphan Buri (5), Narathiwas (3), Kampangpetch (2), Singburi (2), Nakhon Nayok  (2), Ayutthaya (2), Kalasin (2), Yala (1), Surat Thani (1), Phuket (1), Chiang Mai (1), Chiang Rai (1), Uttaradit (1), Prachuap Khiri Khan (1), Chonburi (1), Trat (1), Rayong (1), Sa Kaeo (1), Nakhon Ratchasima (1), Maha Sarakam (1), Roi Et (1), Nong Khai (1), Yasothon (1), Amnat Charoen (1), and Udon Thani (1). The age range was between 28 and 94 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, obesity, stroke, lung disease, and heart disease. One of the fatalities was at 20-week pregnancy while three others did not reportedly have any health conditions.

Of the new cases, 11,759 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 2,916 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 641 were from prisons, and the remaining 19 were imported cases.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,700, followed by Samut Sakhon with 1,081, Samut Prakan with 1,056, Chonburi with 795, Nonthaburi with 585, and Chachoengsao with 571.

A total number of 128,026 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 117,421 people had received their first shot and 10,605 people had received their second shots.

As of today, 6,904 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 497,302 cases with 334,693 recoveries and a total of 4,59 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
