RECAP: Thailand reports 18,901 daily Covid-19 infections with 147 additional deaths, 332,299 new vaccinated people reported nationwide in the past 24 hours

Thailand discovered a total of 18,901 daily Covid-19 infections with 147 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today, August 3rd.

The fatalities were 84 men and 63 women from Bangkok (55), Pathum Thani (11), Samut Sakhon (8), Pattani (7), Nakhon Pathom (6), Nonthaburi (5), Songkhla (5), Samut Prakan (4), Roi Et (4), Chaiyaphom (3), Sukhothai (3), Tak (3), Chanthaburi (3), Ang Thong (3), Narathiwas (2), Nakhon Si Thammarat (2), Phayao (2), Kampangpetch (2), Chainat (2), Prachinburi (2), Saraburi (2), Yala (1), Trang (1), Ranong (1), Nakhon Ratchasima (1), Yasothon (1), Surin (1), Nakhon Sawan (1), Phetchaburi (1), Rayon (1), Sa Kaeo (1), and Prachuap Khiri Khan (1). The age range was between 34 and 99 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, obesity, heart disease, lung disease, and stroke. Three of the fatalities were bedridden patients and one was pregnant.

Of the new cases, 15,176 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 2,975 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 743 were from prisons, and the remaining 7 were imported cases.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 3,566, followed by Samut Prakan with 1,361, Chonburi with 1,359, Samut Sakhon with 1,282, Nonthaburi with 565, and Pathumthani with 465.

A total number of 332,299 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 252,390 people had received their first shot and 79,909 people had received their second shots.

As of today, 18,590 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 652,815 cases with 437,831 recoveries and a total of 5,315 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
