RECAP: Thailand finds 21,038 daily Covid-19 infections with 207 additional deaths, 546,844 new vaccinated people reported nationwide in the past 24 hours

Thailand discovered a total of 21,038 daily Covid-19 infections with 207 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Visanuyothin reported today, August 11th.

The fatalities were 112 men and 95 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 60. Of that, 199 were Thai nationals, five were Myanmar nationals, and one each from India, Pakistan, and Cambodia. The age range was between 21 and 93 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, and obesity. Five of the fatalities were bedridden patients.

Of the new cases, 16,464 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 4,382 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 173 were from prisons, and the remaining 19 were imported cases.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 4,525, followed by Samut Sakhon with 1,683, Samut Prakan with 1,388, Chonburi with 1,368, Nonthaburi with 691, and Ayutthaya with 580.

A total number of 546,844 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 364,685 people had received their first shots, 125,685 people had received their second shots, and 56,474 people had received their third shots.

As of today, 22,012 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 816,989 cases with 600,152 recoveries and a total of 6,795 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
