Thailand discovered a total of 22,782 daily Covid-19 infections with 147 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration reported today, August 12th.
The fatalities were 76 men and 71 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 70. Of that, 142 were Thai nationals and five were Myanmar nationals. The age range was between 23 and 108 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, and obesity. Four of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 19,973 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 2,426 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 375 were from prisons, and the remaining 8 were imported cases.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 4,854, followed by Samut Sakhon with 1,779, Samut Prakan with 1,736, Chonburi with 1,666, Nonthaburi with 729, and Si Saket with 623.
A total number of 570,865 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 366,677 people had received their first shots, 134,611 people had received their second shots, and 69,577 people had received their third shots.
As of today, 23,649 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 839,771 cases with 623,801 recoveries and a total of 6,942 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
