Japan to donate an additional 300,000 doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines to Thailand next week

National –

The Japanese Government will donate a second lot of 300,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to Thailand, the Japanese embassy in Bangkok announced today, September 3rd.

The additional lot is scheduled to arrive in Thailand next Wednesday, September 8th. Previously, Japan has donated 1.05 million doses of AstraZeneca to Thailand in early July.

Japan will also distribute the vaccine to Vietnam and Taiwan to help fight the outbreak in the country. Thailand, however, would receive the most with 300,000 out of 440,000 donated doses.

Additionally, 775 oxygen concentrators will also be donated for severe Covid-19 patients in Thailand as well as other equipment to support the country’s cold chain system, which is necessary for the storage and allocation of vaccines.
