RECAP: Thailand announces 15,191 new cases of Covid -19 and 253 additional deaths

Thailand-

Thailand reported 15,185 new domestic cases of Covid-19 with 726 confirmed cases at prisons as well as 6 imported cases, marking a total of 15,191 daily infections, with 253 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

This makes a total of 1,339,281 cases of Covid-19 since the start of this recent round of infections in early April in Thailand.

Additionally, 1,188,686 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 18,721 people were released yesterday. The chart below shows the total cases and recoveries since the original outbreak last year.

Among 15,185 local new domestic cases, excluding the cases in the prisons, the highest number of infections listed by provinces was discovered in Bangkok with 3,364, Samut Prakan with 1,308, Chonburi with 991, Samut Sakorn with 643 and Ratchaburi with 629.

The fatalities were 135 men and 117 women (249 Thais, 1 Myanmar nationals, 1 Cambodian and 2 unidentified) aged between 18-98.

Thirty two of them reportedly have chronic health problems. Thirty of them did not reportedly have any health conditions. One of them was pregnant.

Thailand has a total of 39,631,862 vaccines given, with 323,285 first jabs, 432,647 second doses, and 2,571 third doses.
