Thailand discovered a total of 11,786 daily Covid-19 infections with 136 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, September 14th.
The fatalities were 78 men and 58 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 28. Of that, 131 were Thai nationals, two were Myanmar nationals, two were Cambodian nationals, and one was a South Korean national. The age range was between 14 and 98 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (79), diabetes (54), hyperlipidemia (27), obesity (23), and kidney disease (22). Four of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 10,345 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 1,165 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 271 were from prisons, and the remaining five were imported cases.
A number of 129,025 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 4,080 patients are in critical condition including 818 on ventilators. This is roughly 3.16 percent of cases that are critical while 20 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,788, followed by Chonburi with 955, Samut Prakan with 881, Samut Sakhon with 542, Nonthaburi with 482, and Ratchaburi with 341.
A total number of 676,669 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 237,043 people had received their first shots, 438,126 people had received their second shots, and 1,500 people had received their third shots.
As of today, 14,738 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,406,542 cases with 1,262,896 recoveries and a total of 14,621 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
