The Director continued with the daily infection report with a total of 11,252 cases, 7 from foreign infections and 28 from inmate infections, and an accumulative number of 1,511,357 cases. 13,695 people have fully recovered, accumulatively 1,366,533 people since the outbreak, and 129,071 cases are being treated at hospitals and field hospitals. All of this data is from September 22nd, 2021.

There are 3,464 patients are in critical condition, decreasing from 4,917 reported on September 1st. Today’s number of 753 on ventilators also decreased from September 1st with 1,040 cases, according to Chawetsan.

Chawetsan stated to the press: “The decrease in the number of infections was due to the proactive approach of the authorities as soon as new clusters were found in particular areas. When encountering a new cluster, we inspected for nearby exposure and close contacts of infections who lived in the same house or participated in the same activities, etc.”

“The infection trend of the world is also showing signs of easing. The Bangkok Metropolitan Region is also decreasing continuously. Patients who are in critical condition have also reduced. However, preventing small clusters in various areas must be strict in order continue to further decline Covid-19 infections.” Chawetsan concluded.
