Thailand discovered a total of 8,675 daily Covid-19 infections with 44 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, October 25th.
The fatalities were 19 men and 25 women with the most numbers recorded in Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 6. All of them were Thai nationals. The age range was between 25 and 88 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (22), diabetes (17), hyperlipidemia (13), obesity (3), and kidney disease (6). One of the fatalities was a bedridden patient.
Of the new cases, 7,931 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 532 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 201 were from prisons, and the remaining 11 were imported cases.
A number of 100,402 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 2,437 patients are in critical condition including 536 on ventilators. This is roughly 2.42 percent of cases that are critical while 21.9 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 903, followed by Pattani with 618, Songkhla with 586, Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 582, Chiang Mai with 352, and Narathiwas with 352. Meanwhile, Chonburi reported 295 infections today.
A total number of 226,178 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 118,658 people had received their first shots, 96,366 people had received their second shots, and 11,154 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 55.5% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 39.4% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 3.0% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 9,589 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,859,157 cases with 1,740,316 recoveries and a total of 18,799 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
